Kanye West and Jay-Z are preparing for “Lift Off,” the first single from their highly anticipated long-awaited collaborative album, and have snatched up Beyoncé and Bruno Mars for the Jeff Bhasker-produced number impacting radio and your iTunes music library sooner than you think.

Producer Jeff Bhasker adds to the story by tweeting he and Kanye are behind the boards. With the names involved, I smell smash hit single even if it doesn’t live up to the expectations quality-wise. We shall see, but I’m intrigued to see how relative newcomer Bruno Mars fits in with ‘Ye & Jay. Big look for Bruno, no?

Mr. C ‘Cha Cha Slide (Pt. 2)’ music video

Sgt. Tibs posted April 29, 2011

So naturally after the new Nardwuar interview with Lil’ Wayne previously today, a brief scan of his extensive catalog of interviews led me to one he did with Common (brought back below). In it he kicks it off with his first gift: Casper’s Groovy Ghost Show – citing it from Chicago in 1980 and additionally saying he (Casper) did the “Cha Cha Slide”. You know – the “Cha Cha Slide”!?! That’s the featured video above, well, part 2 I suppose, because I did some YouTube searching of the “Cha Cha Slide” and saw that the music video was filmed in DJ Casper’s (a.k.a. Mr. C) hometown of, yes, Chicago! A lot of recognizable landmarks can be seen in the video along with a variety of people doing that dance that we couldn’t escape at weddings and events 10 years ago. Needless to say, this is a fun one to relive. But looking at the wiki’s of the “Cha Cha Slide” and DJ Casper, there’s no way that ‘Casper’s Groovy Ghost Show’ in 1980 (when DJ Casper was 9) is by the same DJ Casper who created the “Cha Cha Slide”. I don’t know, I’m still kind of confused. But whatever – both videos have contain high entertainment. Enjoy!

‘Say You Will’ x ’500 Days Of Summer’ music video

MiniMaxX posted April 29, 2011

This may be slightly left field, but I’m certain that anyone who enjoyed Kanye West‘s 808′s & Hearbreak will enjoy this little unofficial music video I put together a while back as a school project. The footage used came from the film 500 Days Of Summer. I recently came across it and never got to share it with the world. Enjoy.

You may remember J-Money, a.k.a. Julian Mavunga the D1 basketball player at Miami (OH), when we posted his mixtape Split Personality, or my favorite song of his: “Show Me The Way”. Perhaps you do, or perhaps this is the first time you’re seeing J-Money, but whatever the case you can check out a new track above called “Be With Me”. J-Money hits us with a slow flow over some equally slow and defining horns on the production. Given the cover art and title, it’s no stretch to deduct what the song is about, so check it out above.
