Kanye West previews tracks for Rolling Stone to lead new video update

Like Facebook and Twitter before him, Kanye West performed some a capellas for RollingStone, some caught in the video above (wait, so 'Ye skipped the LinkedIn HQ?). Watch the video above (and check out the Kanye-inspired Quote of the Day in the post below *cheap plug*).
West says the vibe of his new record is positivity, acknowledging that he's made mistakes in his life. Adding that he believes great art doesn't have to come from dark places, he said, "I feel like [now] I can be a vessel for good will and energy."
Other songs featured some of Kanye's most adventurous and experimental music yet: heavy beats, cellos, sparse piano lines, fuzzed-out electric guitar solos, and spooky sci-fi melodies.
After gesturing for all the office's interns to join him and ask questions, West said he'd love to work with Lauryn Hill ("she's last of a dying breed") and Thom Yorke, made frequent references to Anchorman, Dodgeball and Semi-Pro, and joked that Twitter was designed with him in mind. "Rock stars just get scared and just run away from popular culture," he said. "It takes so much for me and Eminem to come back and embrace [it] and say, 'You know what? We have to deliver this on a major level to make a difference.'"
The part above that hit me the most: Ye' references Anchorman, Dodgeball, and Semi-Pro because I quote those movies all the time with my friends haha. The musical details are nice tidbits as well, specifically the positive vibe and the various indications of the album's sound. This week has provided some great teasers for the upcoming album, with no tracks yet leaking or being released in the process. Lookin' forward to what the rest of the summer will bring us for Mr. West.
Down below, the video update includes some behind the scenes with Eminem, the latest premiere from Bun B, Freddie Gibbs in Miami (shot by AO) and Wale talks the fear of having a 9-to-5. Some interesting stuff to see and hear so check it out along with another batch of bonus links below.
