Kidz In The Hall “Lucifer’s Joyride” f/ Travis (Of Gym Class Heroes) LIVE 12.27.08 in Chicago
Kidz In The Hall “Swagga Like Chi” LIVE 12.27.08 in Chicago
Max G. & I attended the LIVE performance from Kidz In The Hall and opening acts, Chicago’s Mic Terror and Project Fresh at the Beat Kitchen just a couple days after Christmas. We have some exclusive videos and pictures from our experience to share with you. Above, are a couple videos from the Kidz In The Hall set, starting off with the surprise guest appearance from Travis McCoy (Of Gym Class Heroes) who jumped on stage to perform “Lucifer’s Joyride” with the Kidz. It was certainly a treat to see both MCs perform one of my favorite tracks from The In Crowd with such high energy and at a small venue in The Beat Kitchen. The other video is of Naledge spittin’ his verse from “Swagga Like Chi” which got the crowd bumpin’ to the loud booming beat from Kanye West. Both videos were captured from my backup digital camera that is well past its prime so they are really only snippets and not full songs. Besides the point, however, you can get a sense of the experience we had at the live show. The other highlight of the set for me was their performance of “Love Hangover” - my favorite track off The In Crowd as Naledge really killed it on that song as well as throughout the entire set. All 3 of the sets were unlike your normal concert setting because of the small venue; the artists were more intimately connected with the crowd and it led to unique instances of interaction that you can’t get in a larger setting. Mic Terror really ignited the energy of the Chicago crowd with his set, spittin’ some of his freestyles and bigger records while interacting with the audience before and during almost every track. The opening group, Project Fresh, also did their part in giving the audience a great show with their energy, even ending on an impromptu, a capella freestyle that was the highlight of their set.
The entire concert was an enjoyable one as well as a special one for Max G. and I as we got to meet Naledge and Double-O after the show. Peep the pictures of the performances and our pictures with the Kidz down below. We’d like to give a special thanks to Jade for setting us all up at the show and introducing us to Naledge & Double-O and big ups to the Kidz, Mic Terror, and Project Fresh for providing all of us with a great show!
If you missed it from the summer, also take the time out to check out our EXCLUSIVE Interview with Kidz In The Hall. You can follow them on MySpace and Twitter (Naledge & Double-O) as well as Mic Terror on MySpace and Project Fresh on MySpace.
