post Fred Hart 808s & Heartbreak Artwork

December 8th, 2008

Filed under: Art Work, Fred Hart, Kanye West — Max G @ 2:09 am

My dude Fred Hart, who used to go to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with me made this great tribute of artwork for the Kanye West “808s & Heartbreak” album. Read his artist statement below, check out the dope individual song covers, and vote for your favorite! It’s amazing to view the whole body of work as a whole, because the imagery vibes, and I love the entire concept of this project. Also sidebar, I definitely agree that Kanye has really put out probably album of the decade, just because this is the album that says…. “this is art”. It is revolutionary in the sense that it opens up the freedom from cookie cutter records to a new artistic, passionate, and powerful movement.  A movement that allows for the freedom to make fresh innovative records vs. mainstream cookie cutter (soul-less) records. This album is a milestone in hip hop and music as a sense of urgency to be the best. This album is like waking up to a whole new way of thought that has never been said on a large scale before.  Our passion for the urge to be the best is slowly creeping back into society, and people like Kanye are the innovators. Change.

“Well here it is, the complete series of my version of 808s & Heartbreak song covers! I begin with the initial cover for the album, and then go song by song, as they’re presented on the album, each telling a story through imagery, as a metaphor for the journey Kanye West has traveled that allowed us this genius piece of work, 808s & Heartbreak. Each cover looks to create a sort of frame by frame for the album as a whole, with imagery relating to each song, a still shot from each song that allows you to use the lyrics and project your interpretations of each song onto the piece. This is my tribute to Kanye West, whose trials and tribulations have undoubtedly made this the album of the year, if not this decade in my opinion, and a tribute to his mother Donda West as well. So I hope you enjoy this artwork, and please feel free to let me know what you think.” [Fred Hart aka Fhart06]

  54. Uhm i wouldn’t say it’s bad, but it is plagarism
thats a image made from another artist who designed that animated heart.
I would actually say the value would be much more valuable if you created your own heart. But dont take this as an insult because this might actually be saving you, lets say your art was to get popular, and you being to get famous off of it, you would end up being sue’d by the artist if he recognizes the image is his. If you noticed the artist who made those tri color + barack obama images thats look like cartoons and says hope etc at the bottom , the photographer who took that photo is trying to get some of all that money the artist recieved. just for copied prints,etc.. it’s crazy out her. and just hope you’d think about this ..
