JEFF KOONS Last Day @ Chicago’s MCA!

Wanted to announce that tomorrow Sept. 21, is the last day for the infamous Jeff Koons exhibit at the MCA in Chicago! Wanted to get you pumped for the show, because it’s amazing! The show is basically a collection of works from Jeff Koons’ professional career. For those that don’t know, Koons is like the Lil Wayne of contemporary art right now. I put up a few of his works below that are at the show currently. I couldn’t find some of my favorite pieces even, because you can’t take pictures while there :( . Koons blows up the ordinary and accesible, to make you feel a sense of wonder about the everyday. He has an incredible skill to mend materials to his will; check out below what he used to make some of the work below. Mainly check out the exhibit, if you already haven’t, especially becuase of the influence of his work to our modern age. Pretty incredible to have witnessed such important history in the making at Chicago’s MCA!

Also if you want to research a bit more about Jeff Koons and see a bigger gallery, you can go to his website HERE. I love contemporary art, it helps us better understand this modern age.

This looks like an inflatable blow up balloon dog, but in reality it was made out of steel!

Up close this looks very very creepy…you can’t take your eyes off it. This porcelain piece is extremely intricate, and so realistic! An icon in contemporary art.

Oil on Canvas, pay close attention! He bombards you with bits of image in a slick abstract way. The purpose relates to our current bombarded lives of ads, products, and logos.

Don’t you just want to squeeze this steel bunny!?

Or this steel elephant?

Carved out of wood, this bear makes you feel uneasy as he stands eerily calm holding that officers whistle.

A porcelain piece; this falls in with some of the raunchy sexual art Koons produces, which I’m gonna leave all you to check out at the MCA!

Remember he’s got so many more incredible pieces that I couldn’t put up, so make sure you don’t miss his last day at the MCA tomarrow!
