Ludacris Conference Call - 09.18.08

Fast Forward.. 25:22, and hear ya boy Tibs! (I’m sick, haha..)

So here’s the scenario: Ludacris took the time out this afternoon to do a conference call with many DJs & bloggers like us invited to listen and ask Ludacris himself some questions. Luda shared some details about his upcoming album, Theatre Of The Mind, hitting stores November 11th - details that I have yet to hear, including some of the “co-stars” he has lined up for the album (DL that conference call above to find out!). Anyway, I was finally able to get through as the second to last question and the transcript of Ludacris directly answering it can be read below! Definitely a thrill for this Ludacris fan to even have the opportunity to talk to the man himself and we would like to send one last thanks to Luda for taking the time out today to talk to all of us. Finally, I cannot forget the fellas who made it all happen; thanks to BOBO & Young Sav! (Oh, and also thanks to our homies at Urban Music for the audio link!) And just for fun, vote in our Ludacris poll (and for GWHH in the BT Digital Music Awards in the top right :D) below! It’s between The Red Light District & Release Therapy for me. Enjoy!

GWHH: Hey, Luda, what’s up? Much love, always one of my most respected artists. It’s Sgt. Tibs from gowherehiphop.com and my question is: I was wondering how you feel about the growth of the autotune in pop music today, especially recently in hip hop with artists like Lil’ Wayne & Kanye West jumpin’ on it and along with that, I was wondering if we’re ever going to see you jump on the autotune yourself?

LUDACRIS: What do I think about it? I think to each his own. I think some artists are lookin’ for somethin’ new, to do, you know what I mean? They’re just tired of the same ole’, same ole’ so I’m not against it, but it’s not somethin’ that I feel like I wanted to do. There’s a remix comin’ out, I don’t know if ya’ll have heard this record, I’m sure you have though, Ron Browz “Pop Champagne” with Jim Jones, and he’s doin’ the autotune thing on the hook. I’m on the remix and just for like a split second because it was a part of the record. Very slightly, just on the hook part. But of course whenever it comes to my verses, you know, I would never say never, but I definitely, I really don’t think that’s somethin’ that I’m interested in, personally. But to each his own as far as other artists doin’ it. If they like it, then that’s what it is.

Which Ludacris album is your favorite?
