More from the vault as another Prolyfic-produced Lupe track hits the web above with “U Don’t Know”. Truthfully, this is nothing more than a solid track OVERALL since I’m really not feelin’ the beat and the guy screaming on the chorus, but Lupe brings it as usual and it’s worth the DL 2 hear his rhymes alone. The track I’m really feelin’ 2day is by another Chicago cat - Yung Berg - as he comes thru with a song that I feel could be a hit. It’s produced by Boogz (shouts for a few of the trax) & DJ Chase and features the lovely Amerie on the hook. While Amerie carries the song with her strong vocals, YB also follows thru with the sick, twisted Chicago flow, that I feel he lacks sometimes in other trax. I hope this song blows up (CDQ version also.. poor versions are elsewhere) and it’s definitely one worth DLing. There’s plenty more trax below with Ne-Yo’s “It’s You” deserving some words. It’s over the wonderful Usher “Will Work For Love” beat (the hidden track on Here I Stand) and while Usher’s version is better and illustrates the difference in their voices, Ne-Yo’s is still a quality one, with the lyrics standing out above all. Don’t forget 2 peep the videos as well with some interesting ones f/ Ludacris, & Jay Electronica! Enjoy!
Above is a video premiere I wasn’t expecting so fast, but it actually makes sense that Big Boi & Mary J. Blige released the video for “Something’s Gotta Give”, given the current state of the country and their clear backing of Barack Obama! The video is pretty neat, illustrating some of the issues they talk about in the lyrics, all the while lookin’ fly (Big Boi) & sexy (Mary J.)! Here is Coopa with some MORE fire off his upcoming mixtape, Mixtape Messiah Pt. 4! Quite frankly, he’s got the best mixtape series in the game and I can’t wait for MM4 2 drop. Everything that he’s put out has been fire and this track is no exception. I’m not even a big fan of the beat but Chamill saves it with a ridiculous flow at times and witty wordplay (the Wheel Of Fortune reference was sick..)! Also, as I’m sure u notice above, another great promo picture for Mixtape Messiah Pt. 4 as Chamillionaire continues 2 play on summer movies - this time with Heath Ledger as the Joker! And btw, if u haven’t seen The Dark Knight yet, wow, u got 2. The late Heath Ledger steals the movie and as a whole, it is simply magnificent. Just my .02 - Enjoy!

Was about 2 head out but Matt C. just sent the above heat out 2 everyone… a couple DJ Revolution trax off his upcoming LP, King Of The Decks!“The DJ” f/ KRS-One is an instant hit for me and exactly the type of song for my fellow blogger (and upcoming DJ) gowhere?. KRS-One kills it with a passionate message attacking radio songs, flamboyance in hip hop, and his analysis and criticism of the state of the DJ. It’s pretty sick and def a good hip hop track with a menacing, heavy beat (filled w/ DJ scratches as well) that ya’ll should enjoy! Don’t hesitate 2 check out the lil’ bonus track as well from DJ Revolution and crew, one that will take a couple more listens for me, but is definitely a solid 1! Enjoy!

Above are a couple nice, nice trax from the boy R. Les as he comes thru with another R&B jam as the lyrics is the component that stands out on “Wanna Be Good”. He also remixes his own song with the “I.R.I.N.A. RMX”, showcasing his rap skills over a neat lil beat that features some beat boxing! And yes, he has them - he was a Harvard prodigy and can pretty much do everything, haha. I like both trax that are a nice addition 2 ur library. Naledge (Of Kidz In The Hall).. Mugshot, haha.
“Double O from the hip hop group Kidz In The Hall was assaulted by several bouncers early Saturday morning, July 26, while inside a nightclub in Tempe, AZ following a Kidz In The Hall performance. Group member and friend Naledge, who did not witness the assault on Double O, was arrested outside of the club. Naledge’s attempt to get medical assistance for Double O was misconstrued as a hinderence to the investigation. Reports that no injuries were sustained are false as Double O was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries from the excessive force used by club security. On Sunday morning Double O underwent surgery for one of his injuries. He is still in the hospital, but in stable condition.” (Thx 2 Matt C. for the e-mail!)
The story above pretty much explains it and altho Naledge seems happy (in the mugshot, I’m sure not in general), we hope Double-O can make a speedy recovery and that the incident was nothing more than a misunderstanding. Above is a brand NEW track from Chip himself, presumably on his upcoming Can’t Stop Me mixtape, and it’s a fresh one featuring Kid Cudi! The verses are all on point over a beat that both rappers excel on and is also my type of beat. Chip shows his versatility as he spits over a more laid-back beat compared 2 the hard bangers I am personally more accustomed 2 and it works for the better. Not 2 mention his overall flow is better than I’ve heard in previous trax, which goes with a catchy chorus that I can see myself singing along 2. I’m excited 2 see how the rest of the mixtape develops now, which should be coming soon according 2 his MySpace. Enjoy the exclusive above as well as the myriad trax below… starting with Jay-Z jumping on “Put On”, as well as Jeezy spittin’ some NEW verses. Gotta had it 2 Jay-Z (who I was never a big fan of) but he killed it here. Hmm, more hits than misses in the trax below.. I’m really diggin’ the Rhymefest track, but mainly because of Chamillionaire’s beastly verse and incredibly clever Lauren London reference which made me chuckle on 1st listen. Another nice reference occurs in the Busta Rhymes / Jadakiss collabo as a Shaq in Miami and Phoenix NBA reference caught my attention (as does any NBA reference, haha!) Finally the VIDEO PREMIERE for “Disperse” by Consequence f/ GLC & Really Doe has arrived! As said earlier, this was one of my favorite trax of ‘07 and the video really does the song justice. They illustrate the story that all 3 rappers touch on in their verses and are just havin’ fun, especially Lu and Cons throughout the vid, haha. All the while, everyone’s lookin’ pretty fly. Definitely a MUST-SEE video above so don’t sleep. The track is off of Don’t Quit Your Day Job, which is in stores now!

The first verse is a perfect illustration of her unique style, flow, and wordplay (and I personally love the Chris Farley reference.. I loved him).
