It’s already been a week since I returned back to Tokyo and finally on the 26th “The Cool”(Japanese Version) Came out!! It includes the bonus track “Black Out” that Max has put up in the previous posts. Make sure you peep that HERE. I wasn’t the only Lupe fan at the HMV store in Tokyo that morning to pick up my copy of Lu’s second album. Just shows how much people in Japan are beginning to appreciate Lu’s work. But how people here have accepted Lupe is quite different from the other major artists. He’s been to Japan 3 times and he even calls himself an “Otaku” which means that hes in love with Japanese manga and anime along with Japanese brands like A Bathing Ape, Bounty Hunter & Porter. Ive come across the single “Superstar” in several stores in Tokyo so its pretty obvious that people here see Lupe as not just an artist but also as an cultural icon.
After a day and already #2 in the hit chart(HMV store in Shibuya, Tokyo 12/26) If you’re wondering, #1 for this week in Tokyo was Nujabes (”Second Collection”)

first off, I apologize for being MIA lately.. Ive been jetlaggin my way back to Tokyo. Here are some of the NUJABES mashups mp3s that you’ve all been requesting!! So Im finally puttin up a couple tracks from the “Second Collection” by the independent label Hydeout Productions. This album that everyone’s been hyping about features productions from Nujabes. In case you dont know who he is check HERE from my previous post. Second collection also features the remix version of the hit single Luv(Sic.) This is a follow up from the “First Collection” from which they released 4 years ago. This time they came back with major MCs like C.L. Smooth and instrumental work from Uyama Hiroto . I like the direction that Nujabes is going right now and hope to see him collaborate with other good artists worthy of his work. Overll, this a must have album added on to your music collection!! Enjoy!! Il be putting up Nomak and some more nu-jazz hip hop joints in the near future! CHECK THESE TRACKS OUT!!
Been kinda busy lately haven’t been able to put up any joints but here are some pics from the LUPEFIASCO & FNFs showing at Champaign, IL. Great Show, Gemstones set the pace with his versatile talent through not only singing but also rapping. Lu came out strong with Never Lies and crowd went nuts during Daydreamin’ as well as Superstar. He performed “The Coolest” in Acapella and the live video is posted under the pics so be sure to check it out. He didnt perform anything new that we haven’t heard of but sitting front row and constantly being a foot away from him really made me appreciate every single one of his tracks. Cant wait for THE COOL to hit stores Dec 18th. Be sure to check the 30 second snippets of every track on THE COOL HERE!
